Curuba, also known as banana passion fruit for its form, is a native of the Andean region of Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela. The cultivation of this fruit is very popular in South America especially Colombia. It is regularly sold in local markets. The taste of this fruit is not comparable to that of the maracuja. It is very mild, markedly exotic and not comparable to any other fruit. Although it can indeed be processed to make juice, due to its low acid content, the curuba is used predominantly in dairy products (milkshakes, ice cream and yogurt). Clean fruit puree of banana passion fruit (curuba), no preservatives and no sugar (do not require refrigeration during storage). The banana passion fruit is a climbing plant, produces fruit for several years, from 8 to 10 years. Is grown at an altitude of 1800-3500 meters, the banana passion fruits are popular because they have a sweet taste and splendid aroma. They contain vitamins A, B and C, calcium, phosphorus and iron.
